What inspired you to become a financial professional?
I took an advanced estate planning class in law school and quickly realized that I had more passion for helping my clients with risk and wealth management strategies than for helping them plan their estate. As a student of and investor in the capital markets for more than 35 years, I am passionate about financial education and helping my clients navigate the road to financial independence.
What are your passions in life?
Staying up late on Friday night and sleeping in on Saturday morning. Family, faith, skiing, and sports; any combination of the four preceding items is even better. I like to visit bookstores and buy books about history, politics, the markets, religion, and current events (most of which I will never read cover to cover). Powell’s Books in Portland is one of my favorite places to visit. Traveling, eating out, and practicing Arabic and Mandarin Chinese. I have devoted much of my life to both of those languages.
